On the Incarnation // St. Athanasius.

Only exceptionally few can write with such lucidity and dynamism on the things of God: St. Athanasius is one of those few. For thousands of years, the Church has been nurtured directly and indirectly by the import of these venerated words. It would be nothing short of time capitalized when one reads over and over, again and again.

Personally, on my third read I saw the essential affinity between the Incarnation and the Cross. The former is empty with the latter; the latter is ineffective without the former.
