Mirrored Reflections // Young Lee Hertig and Chloe Sun, eds.

With the motto “Never Alone Again,” eight leaders banded together and crafted sensitive and thought-provoking reflections on Biblical women through their Asian American Christian women lens. Working with a “yinist” perspective (as opposed to the overwhelming “yangist” dominance), these reflections seek to elucidate the complex world of the triple marginality (race, class, and gender) and give life to their much overshadowed lives. The yin-yang paradigm speaks volumes to these women where other “reductionist” feminism’s dualistic worldview (male vs female) is limited. Yin is harmonizing, holistic, and dynamic–it seeks to redeem the imbalance of yang dominance rather than to replace. Highly recommended for both Asian American females and males.
