I failed my reading challenge.

Originally I had planned to do 50 books for 2016.

Then I arrogantly up-ed to 70.

I read 63.

Many were repeats, but worthy repeats.

Below are a few of my favorites:

  1. Christ the Key by Kathryn Tanner
  2. Exclusion and Embrace by Miroslav Volf
  3. Theology as Discipleship by Keith L. Johnson
  4. Confessions by St. Augustine (trans. by Sister Maria Boulding)
  5. The Humanity of God by Karl Barth
  6. Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman
  7. Theology of the Pain of God by Kazoh Kitamori
  8. The Sickness Unto Death by Søren Kierkegæd
  9. Racial Conflict and Healing by Andrew Sung Park
  10. The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander
  11. Night by Elie Wiesel
  12. Prophetic Lament by Soong-chan Rah
  13. Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates
  14. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter Scazzero
  15. Knowing Jesus through the Old Testament by Christopher J.H. Wright

Honorable Mentions:

  1. Ender’s Shadow by Orson Scott Card
  2. The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
  3. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
  4. Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
  5. Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson

Note: All repeats were excluded from consideration.
